So loving, caring, giving and beloved
Betty passed away peacefully on March 28, 2015 at Highline Hospital in Burien, Washington with her son Ken, her sister Barbara and several other family members by her side.
She was born April 28, 1929 to Joseph and Edith Wolf in Mitchell, South Dakota. Betty was the middle child with seven brothers and seven sisters.
During her 85 years on this earth, Betty experienced real joy & happiness and, at times overwhelming sadness and sorrow. Her first 16 years included the Great Depression, Pearl Harbor and WWII. Events that created experiences and challenges of which surely played a part in Betty growing into the determined, resourceful, independent and courageous woman she was known to be.
The very young Betty left South Dakota to live in Chicago and work. After a short while, she made the trek to the west coast following several other siblings. While staying with her brother and his wife, Eddie and Aunt Butch, she met a lady up the street that had 3 boys, all with red hair. The youngest boy decided early on, Betty was going to be his wife. He had red hair and he could dance... in a few short months, she married H.K. Eldridge and they began their family. With the loss of 2 children, life was a challenge and the family suffered...Betty suffered. Still, she fought to survive. She worked to survive.
Betty was 62 when she retired from Sun Strand Data Control. In retirement over the next twenty years, she stayed busy... working. Jobs such as, Cashier at Star Mart, Nurse's Aide for an assisted living facility, and a Cook/Cashier at the Boeing Plant Cafeteria in Everett kept Betty busy during her retirement. As her working/retirement career began to slow, she remained active with volunteer work at her local Food Bank and Senior Center. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society. Betty enjoyed hobbies such as knitting; crocheting, ceramics. She loved to dance. She loved to listen to music of all genres and styles.
We will keep her memory, her encouragement and her will to survive forever in our hearts. Betty will be greatly missed.
Rest In Peace Mom you will forever be a part us. God bless you.
Betty leaves behind her son Ken & Mary Eldridge, daughter Kenna Capps & Kurt Schaake, her grandchildren Jason Capps, Paul & Helen Capps with children Taylor & Yasmin and Ken & Melissa Eldridge Jr. with children Kalab & Karlynn.

Aunt Betty was one of my favorite Aunt's. I have many wonderful memories of her throughout the years. I will miss her dearly. She loved to help others and did volunteer in her community. Her smile was one of the characteristics I loved about her, Also her excitement when she was about to embark on a new venture or project. I will miss our times together, but I know she is in a better place & united with her Parents, Brothers & Sisters in Heave! Rest in Eternal Peace Aunt Betty!! Love Sharma & Family
Aunt Betty was one of my favorite aunt's. I have many memories of her over the years and I will miss her dearly.. She was always eager to help people and she loved volunteering her time and skills to her community. Her smile always would warm my heart, and I enjoyed our many get together's doing various things. I know she is in a better place, out of pain & suffering and enjoying being united with her Parent's, Brothers & Sisters in Heaven.. One thing I know about Aunt Betty is she was a person who did not Quit, no matter how hard things got!!

Betty was family, not by blood but by heart, long before my sister married Ken. One of my mothers best friends and Grandma Betty to my kids and Grandkids. It's hard to remember an important day that did't include her. This picture is how I will always remember her. She loved being around people and was always ready to party. Turn the music on and watch her go. Rest in Peace Betty. You are missed.
Here is a picture of Betty with Ken & Kenna in July 2005 at Betty's house in enjoying the day.
