Douglas Arnold Barrow was born on May 7, 1948 to Jack Leonard Barrow, Sr., and Mary Cozette Barrow in Chicago, Illinois.
He was raised in Seattle, Washington, where he graduated from Garfield High School.
Douglas served in the Spruce Street SDA Church as a very young man by working diligently with the young people.
Douglas was quite musical. He was an excellent bass singer. He played accordion exceptionally well. As a young man he sang with the Songcrafters under the direction of Joseph Powe for quite some time, in the 1960's.
He served his county four years in the United States Army. After his discharge from the Military, he attended and graduated from the University of Washington, with a degree in political science.
After his Military years, Douglas married Marlene Breitenbach. To that union became two beautiful daughters.
Douglas is survived by his two daughters: Stephanie Elizabeth hill, and Jennifer Marie Waters; two brothers: Jack Leonard Barrow, Jr. (Connie), and Stephen Lance Barrow; one sister: Dana Gwen Pittman; cousin: Ella Smith; two grandchildren: Nicolette Frances hill, and Brandon Edward Hill. He also leaves behind two nephews: Jack Leonard Barrow, III (Lisa), and Sephren Lance Barrow; and three nieces: Dindria Cozette Barrow (Michael), Darla Rochelle Barrow(Jason Weiss), and Cassandra LeSure (Derek); three grandnieces: Fallon Lisette Barrow, Alyssa Lael Barrow, Lilyana LeSure; and many friends.
He is asleep now, waiting for Jesus to call his name one day. It is our hope and prayer that we will all meet again when Jesus comes to take His children home.
