She is one of the only teachers that can remember. She was awesome. I had for 5th grade at hilltop elementary. I learned so much from her. At the end of the year I got to go to her house and bike ride around lake Washington. I’ll never forget that time in my life. Thank you 🙏🏻

Mrs Dittmer was a favorite teacher of mine. She taught 5th grade at Hilltop Elementary. She made learning fun. She kept it interesting.

I am so sad to learn of Sylvia's passing. We taught together many many years ago.I just heard the song Lollipop Lollipop and remember fondly the dance we did for the students. She got a good laugh out of them. RIP Sylvia.

CandleSylvia was my first cousin. She grew up with her Mom and Dad in the Fremont district of Seattle, on Dayton Avenue. She attended Phinney Ridge Lutheran, where she was confirmed. I particularly remember her being a very serious student in high school; she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953 as one of three valedictorians (with a 4.00 GPS). She then went to Pacific Lutheran University, where she majored in Elementary Education. At PLU she sang in the Concert Chorus (she was a wonderful alto) and served as editor of the campus newspaper, "The Mooring Mast". She spent her professional career as an elementary school teacher in the South Seattle area. She loved traveling. I miss her wit and caring. Peter Quam

I was so sorry to learn of Sylvia's passing. We have lost touch with each other in recent years, but I have fond memories of our friendship for many years. We first met at Pier 91 when Grace,Betty Motzer and my sister Beth Ferguson left for Japan to teach. Then my family remembers her slide show of her adventurous trip down the Colorado River. I have missed her friendship and know she is now in peace. Mary Jane Steele

Dear Cousin Sylvia, I have thanks for all the years of fun trips to Bremerton to visit Erick and Gerda, family picnics, the Mountaineers, family hikes, luncheons with teacher friends and long talks. We really have missed you the last few years and Kris remembers staying overnight at your condo for a UW appointment the next morning. He also remembers fun and the Mountaineers and hikes. Even our grandchildren have fond memories of dinners with you and visits. Love, Grace

Sylvia was my godmother. She loved to hike, ski and folk dance. I have wonderful memories of hiking with her in the Olympics and skiing up at the Snoqualmie Mountaineer's lodge, where we played lively "Hearts" and "Spoons" card games in the evening with eveyone. Will always remember her beautiful smile. -Tani Stafford

Sylvia, after graduated head of her class at Pacific Lutheran University, went on to be an accomplished teacher. She loved to travel when younger and had visited the major continents of the World. She was one of the most intelligent persons we have know and will be missed by her cousins Gordon Dahl, Grace Overby, and Peter, Mark and Barry Quam. June 6, 2016
