Hildur Elida Haugen

After a long and courageous battle with cancer Hildur passed away peacefully, in her home on June 18th 2017. She was a strong and caring lady that was loved by everyone that knew her. She was always very determined in her goals, accomplishments and life. She became an RN at age 50, treating every patient with love, care and respect. Hildur was an avid gardener and hiker whenever she had free time in her busy schedule. She was surrounded with beautiful flowers to the very end. Sending her sister Edith to every nursery in town to buy hanging baskets she could see from her windows.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother in Norway and her loving husband Hans in Des Moines. She leaves behind her son and sister in Seattle and siblings and family in Norway.
She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She will be remembered in our hearts and minds with fond memories.
A celebration of life will be held for Hildur, the date and location to be determined and communicated at the end of summer.
