James H. MacPherson
Jim MacPherson was born in Seattle on June 3, 1949 to Stephen H. and Edna Wykes MacPherson. He passed away on November 17, 2017 after a short illness. An Ingraham High School, UW Business School, and Pacific Coast Banking School graduate, he spent thirty years in banking, mostly with Bank of America/Seattle First. Raised in Ballard, he was a thirty-six year resident of Meadow Point in Seattle's North Beach community and recently Bellevue's Woodcreek community, where he was known as the 'Dog Whisperer'.
A quick wit, master joke teller, music maven, accomplished cook, loving husband. Engaged with life and fond of lively conversations and gatherings with friends and neighbors. "You cherished dogs, nature, wild birds, and growing things. Your garden especially, and your luscious heirloom tomatoes. Well-traveled, you craved the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest and spending time on Lopez Island most of all. Charming, and challenging, you were one of a kind--and are greatly missed, Jimmy Mac."
Jim is survived by his wife, Jena, and brother, Stephen M. (Cathie) MacPherson; and cousins Patrick Whaley, Gordon Anderson, and Lori Bredal. Interment at Evergreen-Washelli Columbarium. Memorial donations may be made to Eastside Audubon (www.eastsideaudubon.org) or PAWS (www.paws.org). A celebration of life will be held in Seattle June 9 for family and friends:
