Phil is my cousin and I have many food memories of us growing up in Scottsdale and celebrating many holidays together, swimming in our pools playing games etc.... He was always fun to hang around with! As time went on and we all moved on with our lives we didn't see each other that often but when we did it was always a fun visit. You will always be remembered and loved!

Brother Phil was an active member of our church, he was loved by so many and was a pillar in our church. We could depend on him at any time of need, he was faithful, he was supported in every way. We have a great loss in our church family, but Heaven has a great gain.

Phil loved deeply, he truly loved his family, his brothers and sisters, and also the people of our church. There has been a great loss, but also we know that we will see him again, and we have great peace knowing that. He is very much missed!

Gayle was a cousin to,Phil's dad and we were visiting them on a trip out West when Philip was about 10 yrs old. He was so excited to show us his rock collection. We have never forgotten that! Hope he finds lots of rocks in heaven!

Phil came in every other Wednesday for auction preview with a smile on his face. He was always enthusiastic about what we had coming up for auction and was trying his hardest to make it in the antique world. Even when the bidding didn't go his way, he stayed positive and pressed on. I will very much miss him at the auctions and my condolences to his family. He was a wonderful man that always made everyone around him smile. - Michael Mroczek - MBA Seattle Auction

Phil, you will never be gone as long as we remember you, and we will, as you were one of the good guys out there in the trenches. He was a great fellow picker because he was honest, humble and always asked how you were doing. The world is less of a place without you my friend, but a better place because of your kindness. Good memories, you will be missed, Jim Dunne

Phil was SUCH a nice guy, very earnest, kind and religious. I will remember our many friendly conversations while waiting in line for estate sales to begin, even though Phil told me whenever he saw me that I was his biggest competition because we tended to look for similar items. I will remember Phil sitting quietly in his car, reading the Bible before sales began. And also that Phil finally came to see my gift shop recently, after I had invited him a gazillion times.

I don't know how you died, Phil, but I know you are in heaven. Hugs to your family. Again, I am so very sorry.
Sincerely,
Nena Peltin, a fellow estate sale attendee

Phil was always the one in line at our sales who would keep order and be help. Always pleasant and smiling with those others who appreciated his kindness and wit. And, boy, he knew his stuff. What an eye for beautiful things!. He came to a sale we did at 2nd Use and saw some bisque 'bathing beauties' and was full of questions about them. Obviously, he went home and did his research and came back and bought all that were left. He was very 'on his game.' He will be missed as a member of our little antique community by all that knew him. Jan Jarvis, Brown Tag Estate Sales

Phil was a very well known participant at our auctions over the last 10 years. We saw Phil all the time at the auction previews "doing his homework" looking at items he intended to bid on. He would research the items prior to the auctions and come back the next day to bid on the items at the auction. So, Phil was a knowledgeable buyer and a seller at the auction. Everyone around our Auction House knew Phil and everybody liked interacting with him. As previously stated by other parties, Phil wasn't afraid to "take a chance" by buying something that he had limited knowledge about, but by buying the item, he would learn about it and would be well prepared the next time he encountered a similar item. Phil will be missed by all who knew him as an upstanding, honest and straight forward person. Our prayers and best wishes for Phil and his Family. Larry & Judi Mroczek, MBA Seattle Auction

I, too, have known Phil for years, through my estate sale company. He was a serious buyer, almost always in the first group through the door! Phil had a good eye and like to consult about his purchases and he wasn't afraid to take a chance on a good piece. He had a good eye and knew what he was doing....plus, he was always polite and kind and never gave the cashier (me!) a hard time.
One purchase that he made fairly recently sticks in my head -- he bought a collection of vintage bisque figurines called 'Bathing Beauties'...he was so excited to get them and planned to put them on Ebay. I so hope that he was able to do that and had fun with them! I will very much miss seeing him at our sales.

Seems like I've known Phil forever! I first met him at the auctions on Mondays in Seattle. He would visit the shop I had back then in Issaquah, knowing the type of things I would be interested in buying. He started attending most of my estate sales as well... always such a joy to talk with! Just a month ago, he came on the last day of a sale to buy several things. He was in a rush though... he needed to head back to get to church in time! I packed up most of his things -- gently teasing him about packing like a guy and not wrapping every little delicate piece in tissue. I will miss him so much -- definitely one of our bright spots at estate sales!

I met Phil many years ago, when he would wait patiently to get into one of our sales. He would laugh, smile and ask numerous questions about what he was buying. He was always hungry for knowledge. Phil was a great guy and will be missed. Becky Mehtala, Girlfriends Estate Sales

I knew Phil because of my friendship with his sister Jo Lynne and their mother. He had a great sense of humor and I loved hearing his stories about great finds while antiqueing and garage saleing. He was a genuinely honest and caring man and will be missed. However, knowing he is once again with his beloved mother lightens my heart. Rest in peace, Phil and may eternity prove to be as wonderful as you anticipated. Sending you hugs in heaven.

Paul & Ginah Butler on Dec 8, 2017

Our one year with Phil and his family were when Phil was 11 / 12 years old. As a young couple with a 3 month old moving to Phoenix, the Wells family befriended us and took us in as family when our closest blood relatives were 2000 miles away. Hence, this is a loss of "family" for us. God be with, comfort, and inspire those who were his real family. Paul and Ginah Butler
