Sondra Flagg was born on October 31, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Dortha and Vivian Flagg. She grew up in Covert, Michigan with her younger sister, Anita, and brother, Donny. She graduated from Covert High School and attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, where she earned her B.S. degree in Education in 1954. From there, she enrolled in the Master's program for teaching at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Sondra married Lucius "Buzz" Jackson on June 2, 1956 at the Western Michigan University Chapel.

Sondra was a teacher for 17 years. She taught in Michigan, California, and Washington State. She owned three businesses during her life, two Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores and a Ticketmaster agency. She was the regional manager for the Washington State Lottery for 20 years and a real estate agent for approximately ten years.

Sondra had many hobbies and interests. She loved to shop, read, gamble, travel and enjoyed good scotch. She found pleasure in taking craft making classes and was always in search of learning new things.

Sondra is survived by her husband, Buzz; two children, Brad and Sheryl; three grandchildren, Dylan (16), Marissa (14), and Sarina (8); daughter-in-law, Melanie; son-in-law, Steven; mother, Vivian; and sister, Anita. In addition, Sakkie, her beloved dog.
