Erik V. Ekenes passed away on March 5th, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1960 in Vancouver, B.C., and then moved to the Woodinville area with his family at age 3. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Scandinavian Studies. Erik was very active in the Sons of Norway and served as President of the Bothell lodge and Vice President Treasurer for District 2. Erik is survived by his children Kari and Kristoffer Frisch-Ekenes. He is also survived by three sisters, Aase Sjurso, Johanne Donnestad Hauge, and April Featherston, and brothers Martin Ekenes and Rolf Ekenes.
So sorry to hear of Erik's passing and my thoughts and prayer's go to Kari and Kris and family members. Enjoyed working with Erik over our time together at Sons of Norway as we let our imagination go to work for youth activities. May he be at peace now and we meet another time.
