Robert Paul Meyer (Bob), age 64, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, after a 3½-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Bob was the youngest of 3 sons born to Leo and Wanda Meyer in West Union, Iowa.
After serving in the Navy, Bob graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, and began working for Hormel.
In 1980, Bob was transferred to Kirkland. Since leaving Hormel in 1991, Bob owned and operated TJ Cinnamons Bakery in Redmond, Bullseye Bakery in Seattle and Anchor Consulting.
Bob loved golfing, biking, boating and 1-putting, but not necessarily in that order. He was a hard-working, selfless man who put others' needs before his own. His passion for serving others brought him to Bridge Ministries in 2007 where he coordinated the donation and redistribution of medical equipment. Bob's association with Bridge Ministries fulfilled his desire to help those in need.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, John Meyer. Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy and his three children: Jere (April), Janene Roudebush (Brian) and Erik (Anousinh); two grandchildren: Lily (5) and Max (2). He is also survived by his oldest brother Richard Meyer (Janice) and his sister-in-law Kathryn Meyer.
Throughout his life, Bob was a very spiritual man and maintained a close relationship with God. His family takes comfort knowing that he is resting in peace with the Lord.
Dear Judy and family,
Bob's love for golf almost converted the Larson to the sport. Almost. Even though golf wasn't our thing, Bob loved us anyway. We cherish getting to know him better these past few years and, Judy, we will never forget our weekend with you and Bob at Shangri-Lar.
He was a classy, kind and generous guy. Our lives are so much fuller for having known him
With all of our love,
Neil and Kirby Larson
Judy & Family,
Bill & I think of and pray for you every day. We will all miss Bob's smiling face and kind manner. May God hold you near.
Our hearts go out to the Meyer family. We are honored to have known such a wonderful man. God Bless
Bob, you have made the world a better place. You'll always be the Captain. Rest in peace.
