How Did We Do?

There are a few people in this world that just glow...one of them was my mother, Gladys Wilhelmina Adrienne Sears. She radiated a light that was a reflection of her spirit surrounded by an aura of gold.

Being a nomad, she always followed her heart wherever the wind blew her. She was a rebel in the true sense of the word, following higher laws & questioning those set on this earth. Her unwavering connection to our universal Creator inspired & guided her every movement & thought toward the next experience she needed to learn from or any situation in which someone need her love, guidance or service. Not many are as masterful as Wilhelmina at intuitively, in very few words, helping you move forward when you were dealing with personal issues; sometimes when you weren't even aware that you had an issue. To say that she deeply touched everyone she knew, however brief that meeting may have been, is a serious understatement.

Many people I've spoken to claim that she literally saved their lives. I often tried to think back & figure out exactly what she had said at different times to help me. Even though I couldn't usually put my finger on it, I could just feel that I wasn't stuck anymore. It wasn't until lately that I realized she would make herself a mirror so we could more clearly see our higher selves. Then give us the unconditional love & support needed to move past where we were & into the next paradigm.

She taught me that the best way to teach anyone anything is by example. And saving the world starts with yourself, by expressing who you truly are in the most creative & loving way possible. She was a woman who knew how to really LIVE in this lifetime, & live it to the fullest, which she did using every name she had!

Her zest for life was matched only by her generous nature, for she gave everything she had to help others. I'm glad she realized & instilled in me the awareness that the most important thing in life is love! Loving yourself & those close to you, especially your family, is all that matters, in this life & beyond.

Indeed, she spent the last several years of her life building & strengthening her connection to her children & bonding with her grandkids. I can't guess how many people will miss her or how much she'll be missed. All I know is that what I'll miss the most is the love & support that came through her wise & comforting words on the phone, in person or in hundreds of letters, her super soft hands & finger nails she would let me feel while we would talk, laughing even harder than we had been laughing when we would notice that we were laughing exactly the same way, her amazing food & her beautiful smile. I'll also miss her example of how to open up to God's love & let it fill you up until it spills out on all those around you.

Even though it will take a while adjusting to life on Earth without her, I know that now she is closer than ever, in my heart, & we will truly never be apart. Somewhere in this universe, there was a need for a great spirit & they called in one of greatest. Because we all know that she is still cruisin' around doing what she does best...making everybody smile & feel loved.

Adrienne’s last email sent to me was titled...
"Update on my amazing journey through life"
In this brief statement she captures the essence of what she was a teacher of: to love life and every experience in it! What I learned from her...is to be a lifelong learner always seeking the higher purpose in life’s lessons, to be incredibly positive trusting in what is in store for your highest good, to be a seeker of wisdom and spirit and to not be afraid to share with others your insights and learning’s in your life’s journey. Adrienne was a loving mother to many including for a brief period nine of my nieces and nephews. She was a very devoted and loyal friend. Her smile and twinkle in her eye would light up my life every time I had the privilege to be in her presence.
I have fond memories of her in my childhood as my babysitter. She would read to me as many books as I desired over and over as many times as I wished to hear them. I can still hear her voice clearly in my head. I had the wonderful privilege of babysitting her children when I came of age. I loved to go to her apartment at the Laurel Tree apartments in San Pedro and spend time with her family. It was amazing to watch her build her business of making her bread baskets and traveling around to different art shows to touch the lives of all she came in contact with. Undoubtedly inspiring and gifting them with more than the sale of her bread basket. I remember going to her home in Utah. I think it was Thad who had a pet ferret running around the house. There was a trampoline in the back yard. It was a very “kid friendly” home. It felt as though Adrienne was very committed to encouraging her children and all those she made contact with to discover their true authentic self and to let that shine bright. I am a better person from knowing Adrienne. I feel tremendous gratitude for her friendship. Her lifelong commitment of living a life of inspiration and love will be with me always.

Thank you dear beautiful spiritual sister-Wilhelmina for sharing your life. Like the time you traveled from TX to CA...you arrived early spring and drank 8 cups of fresh orange juice straight. I thought MY stomach was gonna burst just watching. You said you'd just left snow and was fruit & sun starved!! Then onto sunbathing in backyard, soaking up all you could get. We'll always remember your favorite foods: OJ, guacamole & daikon radish chips !! Your mentorship was truly a gift as we journeyed together through our trials. Holding hands with an angel is never forgotten. Thank you for permanently connecting back in 2007. Blessings and love on your new surroundings. May peace, light and love surround each and every one of your beloved family and friends. XXXOOO
