How Did We Do?

Mae, age 71, passed away at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, Washington on August 28, 2011. She was born in Mountainair, New Mexico to Lorene G. (née Autrey) and Don Webb. She has been a resident of the Seattle area for over 65 years. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle and started her professional career as an Office Manager at Sunset Sportswear for 20 years. After Sunset Sportswear had a company merge, Mae relocated to PacSoft Software as the Vice President until her retirement 10 years later.

Mae was known to be very meticulous in all aspects of her life including organizing, filing, and learning any new tasks as needed. She was reliable and determined to accomplish the greatest challenges, researching and digging through tedious equipment manuals to learn any piece of equipment or procedure to complete assigned tasks. She carried this talent into her personal life by developing her computer skills. She created a home office, self instructed by setting up and learning all the up-to-date computer equipment and applications, until it seemed as if she owned stock in Office Depot.

Mae utilized her work expertise and home office to better the community by volunteering at Greenwood Senior Center, Old Dog Haven, and Homeward Pet Adoption Center. She avidly assisted with flyers, administrative duties, and home inspections on behalf of the pet adoption centers. Mae was known as the "thank you note lady" for Old Dog Haven. Besides her extreme love of animals, Mae enjoyed the theater, adding to her DVD & unicorn collections, Elvis, and country western music. Mae is preceeded in death by her parents and a brother, Ray Webb. She is survived by her best friend and longtime companion of over 30 years, Bertha Jaeschke; Sister-in-law, Betty Webb; Caregiver and friend, Karen Cole; two faithful rescue dogs, Quigley & DeeDee; as well as many loving friends at Greenwood Senior Center.

A special thank you goes to Bertha and Karen for all their support throughout the years. Mae's talented, generous, and sweet loving ways will be greatly missed by all.
