Janet Beverlin Wegner (nee Teel), age 67, passed away on March 12, 2012 at Overlake Hospital of complications from surgery after a courageous battle with cancer. Janet resided in Bellevue where she lived with her partner Steve Wellons.
Janet was born Nov. 30, 1944 in Pasadena, Calif. of loving parents Stanley Clinton and Eleanor Mae Teel (nee Bradbury) of Los Angeles. She attended Los Angeles Pacific High School and graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1965 with a degree in Economics and Business.
During this time she became enamoured with the Seattle area where she continued to reside and work until the time of her death. Throughout most of her working career, Janet worked as a surgical medical assistant for two ENT surgeons, then as a medical transcriptionist, the last 23 years at Overlake Internal Medical Associates of Bellevue. She derived considerable satisfaction from her work.
Janet is survived by her devoted partner, Steve Wellons, brother Galen Teel and sister-in-law Kate Holland of Surrey, B.C. Canada and step-sons Keith and Scot Wegner of So. Calif. She is preceded in death by her parents. She will also be greatly missed by her "Birthday Group".
Jan, was a long time friend. I am 1 in a group of 5 that would meet annually for a reunion. Jan, was a great example to us all how bravely she fought with courage this devestating cancer. She never complained she was always cheerful and had a positive attitude. She fully accepted this illness with her faith, family and friends. It was a privilege to have known her and we'll all miss and cherish our memories of our dear friend Jan.
Jan was a dear, dear friend of mine for over 20 years. She was part of our group of 5 friends who we called "musketeers" or "birthday group." We got together every year at least twice to visit and catch up. She was a very brave and beautiful person and will be missed very much.
