Sandra "Sam" Ellen Roberts
November 11, 1951 - March 28, 2012


Sam was born in Ketchikan, Alaska and spent her childhood playing on the beaches and in the forests of the homestead on beautiful Gravina Island with her big brother Arne, and their many cousins. She had so many great memories of all the adventures and fun they had as children.

Sam moved to Seattle with her family when she was in the seventh grade and remained in the Northwest for the rest of her life. She loved cooking great meals for family and friends when she wasn't tending her garden or utilizing her skills as a gifted seamstress. In her younger days she loved river rafting, fast cars and her Harley Davidson motorcycle. She harbored a secret desire to write children's books.

Above all Sam treasured her family and friends. She was so proud of her two sons, Shane and Daryl, their wives, Shawn and Angela and the grandchildren, Steven, Kristian, Danielle and Sullivan. Among her many friends she shared a special bond with Diane Lee who was like a sister to her. Sam cared deeply about nature and animals, especially her beloved puppy, Sheeba, who stole her heart and was such a great comfort during the challenges and health issues she faced in the last years of her life.

"Sam" passed away peacefully on March 28, 2012 surrounded by the love and affection of the family and friends which she held so close to her heart.

Sandra will be inurned with her mother, Minnie Roberts and her father, Lloyd Roberts.
