Two weeks after celebrating her 50th birthday with family and friends, Greta suffered a medical emergency and died at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. Greta is survived by her nine year old son, Zakori, parents Ray and Glorea Jensen, her sister Ann and her son Sean, and her brother Kurt and his sons Nikko, Makai and his partner Lucy LaRosa and their son, Oliver.
Greta grew up in Bellevue and attended Bellevue High School. Throughout school she was active in swimming and band, graduating in 1980. Greta continued her education earning her Bachelor of Science degree at Eastern Washington University and her Masters of Divinity at the Vancouver School of Theology, B.C. Initially, Greta served as a Methodist minister, then chose to become an Interim UCC Pastor and served in a number of churches in our area; Tacoma, Normandy Park, Ballard, and Carnation. Occasionally, Greta has preached at her home church, Bellevue First Congregational UCC, where services will be held. Greta recently moved into a new home and began a new job in the field of technology. She was very happy: loving the freedom her job gave her to mother her intelligent, creative, and caring son.
