Foy's battle with cancer ended on Jun 27th, and he is now free again.
Foy grew up on a cotton farm in western Oklahoma. He helped his dad work the farm and helped with his two younger brothers. Following graduation from the local high school in Hollis, Oklahoma he spent one years with the Army and then gained both a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and his wife of 62 years from Oklahoma State University.
Foy loved things that flew and put his chemical engineering degree to use designing and building rockets and rocket engines, first for the Navy and then for Rocket Research Company in Redmond, Washington.
He enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing, hiking, hunting and most of all flying. There were many trips in his Cessna 182 to take his family and friends camping, fishing, and visiting relatives in various parts of the country (as well as days spent waiting for the weather to clear over the Rocky Mountains.)
Foy was very much interested in giving back and and helping those striving to succeed, whether a child or grandchild with education costs or those from another country who were working hard to better themselves. He adopted a village in Guatemala and provided them with funding to build a school and funds to sponsor continued education for them.
We looked to him as the center of our family and extended family. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Betty), his son Glenn and his wife Consuelo, his son David, his daughter Kathy (Hergert) and her husband Perry, his brother Glenn and his wife Tiffany, his brother Rex and his wife Lynne, his 4 grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews and their children. Foy cared for all of his family and extended family, and he loved them all very much.
We will miss him greatly but are glad his struggle is over, that he is with the lord and free to fly again!
