Brian E. Goldade was born in Seattle on August 5, 1945 in Seattle, Washington to Phoebe Roxy (Sawyer) and George M. Goldade. He passed away on September 3, 2012 in Bellevue, Washington, of complications following heart by-pass surgery.
Brian graduated from Peninsula High School, served with the army in Vietnam, retired from Qwest.
Brian's life's passion was folk dancing. He was a Gold Card Member and Past President of Northwest Folk Dancers Incorporated, with whom he danced, performed and taught. He had an incredible memory for a myriad of dances. His legacy is the thousands of students whose lives he touched with his kind, patient, gentle instruction. He was an avid reader, a crossword puzzle solver, and local theater; stage and movie goer.
Brian was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by his brother, Forrest, his sister-in-law Middy, his nephew Erik, his niece Evie and her husband Josh Pfau, his best friend Mary Ann Tracy, as well as many cousins and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by: his wife Nelle, his mother Roxy, and his father George.
The folkdance community will never be the same without Brian. He was such a kind and considerate dance partner and teacher to everyone. Even if you didn't know the dance, he could talk you through it. When you danced with him he made you feel special. We will miss him at Snoking and throughout the dance community.
I went to grade school with Brian at Beacon Hill elementary school. We had a photo taken in front of my house and I remembered that he had a brother named Forrest who was called Woody. He was a gentle soul who was larger than many other of the kids. A sweetheart. May he rest in peace.
Uncle Brian,
Thank you for being such a great uncle. I will miss you!
First met Brian wen we were in the 66th grade. Have remained friends throughout the years. I will miss you, Brian, but know you are in a much better, pain free place.
It has been a long run old friend. Your passing leaves a hole in the universe.
