John passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2012. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Husband and came from a large Polish family with strong Catholic faith.

John was born to John and Stephanie Chmielewicz in Webster, Mass. and was preceded in death by his mother and father, five sisters, two brothers, and two wives.

John is survived by his daughter Cathy Adams & husband Terry, grandaughter Sarah Fekkes and husband Colin, sister Terry Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

John was raised in Webster, Mass. and gradutated from Bartlet High School. He honorably served in the US Marine Corp in World War ll stationed in the South Pacific where he was awarded a Purple Heart.

John married Elaine Salva and their only child, Cathy, was born in Southbridge, Mass.

After a few years they moved to Long Beach, CA where he received his AA degree at Long Beach State College. He worked a long and rewarding career for Rockwell International (now Boeing Corp) who manufactured parts for missiles and submarines. John was a Quality Control Project Manager. Elaine passed too early in life from cancer.

Later in life, John married June Thompson and enjoyed many happy years together in Orange County, CA retiring in Scottsdale, AZ until she passed in 2003.

John enjoyed playing golf, music, cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. He played the piano, harmonica, and accordion. He was a sweet & gentle man with a warm and beautiful spirit that touched many lives.

John's health issues began in 2004 and he moved to Seattle, WA to be with his daughter, Cathy who cared for him and eventually became his full time caregiver. He survived many health issues for a long time and made his home with Cathy, her husband Terry and their golden retriever Cody. He was able to remain in their home with the care of Hospice until the last week of his life. The family, including Cody, were by his side during his last days. We are sad to see him gone and happy that he is finally at peace.
