How Did We Do?

On Friday, October 12, 2012, following his hard fought battle with cancer, Scott Byron Bringedahl passed away surrounded by his loved ones.

Scott was born on June 15, 1960 in Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marie Bringedahl. Scott is survived by his brothers Bruce (Sherrie), Mark (Leslie), Brad (Nicki) and his sister Ann, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends.

His intense love of music was known to all who knew him. Scott was a major contributor for many bands in the Puget Sound region, playing bass and vocals for The Dana Osborne Band, The Jones, Culprit, and Eddie Spaghetti and the Meatballs, among others.

Scott loved the outdoors and his favorite times were spent hiking, fishing and camping with his dogs Jazz and Brew. His biggest passion was bird watching. He also supported the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center to rescue injured birds.

He touched the lives of those around him and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cousin Scott. You have always had a special place in my heart. You always teased your little cousin & swung me in circles until I almost got sick. I remember you falling off my pony in front of your friends & me busting a gut, because finally I got to pay you back. I love you & will see you again. Off to a better place you go.

Scott had a rare quality, a gentle, honest, open way that made him instantly likable. I watched as girls, attracted to his cuteness and innocent manner, hit on him atevery gig we played. Damn, I was jealous! Scott was not only good looking, but he had talent and humility. Scott Bringedahl was the real deal.

Scott and I go back as far as 1966 1st. grade at Melody Hill Elem. in Mountlake Terrace WA. We were very good close friends up till the 9th grade at Terrace Jr. Scott went to MLT Sr. I went to Woodway. We always seemed to run into each other at different times in our lives. Scott turned me on to the music of Jimi Hendrix when we were in the 5th grade,I got Scott to play hoops, we ran track for Cheetah Track Club and Terrace Jr. He was in on the music and I was the sports guy. We had numerous laughs and great times. Although I did not get to see Scott in his last days we had a few long conversations about everything we could think of. My fondest memories of Scott was when we ran track together at Husky Stadium and at Terrce Jr., when we were 11 and 12 years old, and also playing basketball. I would ask him about the latest rock groups, we would listen to many albums.
May you be in a much better place Scott, I will never forget how much of a great buddy and friend you were to me. My condolences to the Bringedahl
family and to all that loved this magnificent
person.
peace, jack

Scott went to High School with me at Mountlake Terrace. He was a few years ahead of me, but I remember watching him play bass at school even then, a great player. Our paths crossed several times in the future as we both played in local bands. Always a nice guy in person and just a heck of a great bass player. Glad to have been acquainted with him.

Scott, I cannot believe you are gone. You are the cousin closest to me in age, the one we tormented when we were little, trying to kiss you goodbye when you wanted nothing to do with us. I remember as a young teenager, sitting in your room, listening to you play your base guitar. I remember saving all those bread clips for you to use as guitar picks--I took it very seriously, as I thought you were really cool, and I made sure none of them got thrown away. I also remember how proud I was to go and watch your band play in the clubs, telling my friends, "hey, let's go see my cousin's band play." Eddie Spaghetti & the Meatballs--what a great band name. We didn't see each other much after we became young adults, but I always looked forward to family get-togethers when we'd get to catch up again. I will miss you.

My uncle and I shared a love for nature, but he was such an expert on birds! Every time I hear the birds singing, I will think of you, Uncle! I will also remember your smile. You advised me, " If you're up on stage and you want the crowd to have a good time, you've got to SMILE, man!" Uncle Scott, you were an amazing person, and I'm glad you had such a wonderful life. " Right on!"

Uncle Scott will be greatly missed. His music brought joy to many people over all of the years. I will always cherish the lesson he gave me on the guitar especially trying to teach me the Batman theme. And nothing was cooler than a night out with my friends, walking into a bar and finding out that my uncle was playing on stage. And by the end if the night my friends telling me that my uncle rocks. Uncle Scott we love and miss you!
