Maureen Helen Hitchcock passed away peacefully with her family by her side, November 11, 2012 at the age of 74. She was born in Bremerton, Washington, the oldest child of John and Helen Hipp. She grew up in Skykomish, Washington and graduated from Skykomish High School. She attended Whitman College in WallaWalla, Washington. When Maureen returned home from college she married Glen Hitchcock. They had three children. Most recent Maureen was working at Thrifty Supply in Bellevue, WA the last several years. She really enjoyed her job and all her friends there. Before joining Thrifty Supply, Maureen retired from the Veterans Administration in Seattle Washington after thirty one years of service, where she was a Budget Analysts. Her long career at the V.A. concluded in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she spent the last four years of her career there helping setting up the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic as the Budget Analysts. This was the highlight of her career. She loved Hawaii but wanted to return home to her family here in Maple Valley, Washington.
Maureen is survived by her three Children, son William Hitchcock and Granddaughter Jamie Hitchcock, daughter Kelly Canyock and her Husband RJ, grandchildren Rachel, Zach, Dylan, Jessica, TJ and son Douglas Hitchcock. She is survived by Dick and Sue Hitchcock, Bob and Carli Hitchcock, Joe and Sharon Sutton, Clay and Vanja Sutton and their families. She was predeceased by her father John Hipp, her mother Helen and John Henry, her sister Rebecca Hipp Sanger. Maureen " Reenie" loved her family, kitty, politics, all things Irish, and being on the water around Puget Sound. Her sense of humor and generous heart will be missed.
