Doug Albert Deaver, age 45, passed away peacefully at home in Everett WA, after a courageous and heroic 10 year battle with cancer. Dad calls Doug, "True Grit" for his determination and the sheer will power he has shown during his life.
Doug was born March 31st, 1967 in Ogden Utah to Duffy Deaver and Barbara (Scoville) Deaver. A son! his father said with a grin! Older sister Tracy could only jump for joy at a chance to dress him a little Sister! Lucky for Doug, no more dresses for him as baby sister Mickie came along. Doug could be the Prince again!
Doug lived at the Valley Roz Orchard #1 in Parker Heights, Washington during his school years. He graduated from Wapato High School in 1985. He met the love of his life, Ange Morgan through friends in 1986 and so began a romantic game of "chance encounters at 7-11! Doug had been smitten. They were married on July 9, 1988 and had 4 blissfully quiet years together when Casey Allen Deaver was born March 30th, 1992. Being that this was the day before Doug's 25th birthday, Casey has always been a wonderful "gift" in his father's eyes. Then, on March 9th, 1995, Doug was given his next, most precious gift.....Alex Marie Deaver became Daddy's little princess!
Doug taught his children about the meaning of courage, willpower, unconditional love and genuine honesty. He taught us all to speak the truth that we believed and to stand together because we are all stronger when united than as individuals standing alone. He showed the world that you don't have to lie down and quit when given a tough challenge. But that you should live every day as though it could be your last. His earthly life has been taken too soon, but his memory will burn inside all of us and those who will use that fire to continue his fight will be living each day to the fullest, just like Doug!
Doug is survived by his beautiful, courageous wife of 24 years, Ange; two children, son Casey and daughter Alex; Parents, Duffy and Barbara Deaver; sisters Tracy (Donn) Brookes and Mickie (Jason) Hoffert. Parents-in-law, Terry & Connie Morgan; sister-in-law Tammie (Tom) Tufte. He also has 8 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews and his pets, Roxy, Sam and Tigger.
