Judith Mae Vincent Marshall died on January 4, 2013 after an eighteen month battle with ALS. Judy was born on June 26, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington to Robert L Vincent, Sr and Jean Woodin Vincent. When Judy was an infant the family moved to Mt. Vernon, Wash where Judy attended school until moving to Seattle, Wash to attend Kings Garden High School. During high school Judy met and soon after married Jim Marshall, who was serving in the Navy at Whidbey Island Naval Air station. Together they had three children, Jimmy, Thomas, and LaDonna. After Jim was discharged from the Navy, the family lived in Bremerton and Belfair, Washington. In 1972 the family moved to Texas to be near Jim's family. Judy was a stay at home mom when her children were young, but entered the work force eventually becoming the Director of Purchasing at Decatur Community Hospital in Decatur Texas. Judy lived in Texas until moving to Ft. Collins Colorado in 2004. Judy always felt she found Ft. Collins and Ft. Collins found her. Judy was an avid animal lover, gardener, weaver, photographer, artist and lover of the Lord. She loved sharing her talents with others, frequently teaching classes on weaving and spinning fiber. Judy endured many physical hardships in her life, including a number of back surgeries. Her physical challenges influenced her to be strong willed (stubborn), and to never give up. While in Ft Collins, she was an active member of the St Peter's Episcopal Church, serving on the Outreach committee and was a champion of reaching out to the least, last and lost. Judy left Ft. Collins this past August to return home to Washington state be near family as she coped with her ALS symptoms. She left behind her beloved bird Buddy Roy, the joy of riding her bike, and her church community who supported and loved her through out her time in Ft. Collins. Judy was preceded in death by her father Robert L Vincent, Sr (1973), her mother Jean M. Holston (2011), her husband, James M. Marshall (2005). She is survived by her children Jimmy, Thomas, and LaDonna all of whom reside in Texas, a number of grandchildren, and her brother Robert L Vincent of Bonney Lake, Wash.
