Rubye Lee Little was born on September 12, 1934 in Denison, Texas to Alma Julia and Ernest Thomas (E.T.) Williams. On March 19, 2013 in Seattle, Washington, God sent one of his chosen angelic host to escort Rubye into paradise for eternal rest in heaven. Rubye was educated in Sherman, Texas, graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1953 and moved to San Diego in 1958. There, she worked for the Safeway Corporation for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Rubye remarried in 1978 to Malachi Little of San Diego, CA, and faithfully remained by his side until his passing in 1992. She was a long time and active member of the New Creations Church in San Diego where she served as a greeter--the perfect role for her, as she was a lover of people and able to make any and everyone feel welcomed and loved. Rubye enjoyed gardening, walking, church activities, pets and spending time with close friends and family. Into every family falls some sorrow when a dearly loved mother and grandmother leaves this world. They may be gone, but they are never forgotten--they are loved and cherished forever and will forever live on through our hearts and memories. To be absent in the body, is to be present in spirit with the Lord, (Colossians 2:5)--and because of this, we rejoice. She is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Williams of Seattle, WA; son, George Chamberlain, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; Rosemarie Little of Los Angeles; DeEtta West of Peachtree City, GA; and Roy Little of Carson; sister, Alice Williams of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Nicole Hollonquest and Ashley Williams, both of Seattle, WA; D'Anna Vena of Porcia, Italy; Nicol Howard of Los Angeles; Danielle West of Atlanta, GA; and grandsons, Stacy Evans of Dallas, TX; Michael Robertson of Spokane, WA; Philip West of Statesboro, GA and a host of other adored grand and great grand-children, nieces, nephews, family and cherished friends. Rubye is preceded in death by her husband, Malachi Little and her beloved daughter, Brenda Robertson.
Mommy, Patsy shared a picture on social media of when I first moved you here to Seattle with me and I took you on the RIDE THE DUCK of Seattle. I remember that was the longest 90 minute tour ride of both our lives. But, as we drove off land and slowly drove into the water of Lake Union, and you yelled, "Heyyyyyyy!! Trisha, we are going into the water!!! HEYYY!" I'm still giggling. Then you finally felt comfortable enough to reach over and touch the water and make sure I saw you being BRAVE, was so priceless, mom.... Then, I started flicking the water on you and you threatened me to stop. Even after all those years, you still had that "tone" I remembered as a child, that said when you'd had enough, you Meant it...I miss you SO much, mommy... My heart still hasn't healed. I don't think it ever will.... I. Love. You.
Having the pleasure of meeting your daughter, I know a gift from God. I lost my mother in June and I am so lost without her and I know that she can never be replaced but Patricia has filled so many voids in my life, (friend, sister, and still gives that motherly feel being around her.) You've raise a beautiful, smart, funny and talented woman that I am so pleased to have met. Knowing. How it feels to feels to have lost the most special woman and my life and have to keep living everyday til we meet again, I just want you to know I'm here to keep Patricia spirits up as she does for me. You are truly missed...

Mrs. Little, family and friends...although we've never met, I look forward to meeting you on the other side of glory. Reading your obituary, paints a vivid portrait of what an extraordinary spirit you possessed and shared with the world. I see this in your daughter, Patricia and it transcends through Ashley and I am positive Jada will benefit from your prayers, as well. I am contributing this as therapy, for myself and for Patricia. Supporting her and extending my love, beyond the heavens. My prayer is that God heals, and that your annual memorial becomes a time of rejoice. For the life and love that you lived and gave. May God cradle you, in his bosom, until we meet.
Rubye, I am so thankful for how you poured your heart, soul, love and faith into your beautiful daughter. Although I have never met you here on this earth, I feel your fruits and blessings through my dear, dear friend Patricia. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Looking forward to meeting you in heaven!
Mom, today marks the second year (anniversary) of your passing... There are simply no words and it still feels like yesterday that I had to say goodbye to you .... I miss you so much...Your smile, your laughter, words of encouragement, our singing hymns together and creating rhymes that neither of us could remember... Your great-grandchildren Jada and VJ are growing by leaps and bounds and mommy, you'd be so proud of them. They are both so smart, intelligent and articulate. No doublt you'd be bragging to your closest friends about these two! Nicole and Ashley are wonderful mommys and I have no reservation that Brenda would be so proud and beaming about how much love and attention Nicole gives to VJ. We all love and miss you mom...Especially me... Today is gonna be tough....But hearing your words in my head, "You'll make it, baby...This too shall pass." Rest in blissful eternity....

Another lost in our lives. First Ursula Strong and then Rubye. We are so sorry for both .We know Rubye for 3 years and it was a pleasure to work for her; it was so easy and so funny every day with her.

Today the sky has a new star(Star Rubye)&God has a new angel(Angel Rubye).Rubye was a wonderful person in my house Victoria 1 AFH.I was blessed to have a wonderful person in my house for more than 7 years.For us Mama Rubye was mother,friend and Angel.We will love you forever.We will always have great memories of her.

When you left Calif. to go to Washington you took a little piece of my heart. I miss my trips to San Diego to spend time with you. My heart is so heavy at the loss of my dear friend Mrs. Little. When I moved in across the street from her, she welcomed to the neighborhood. I have missed our early Saturday morning talks. I love you Mrs. Little and you will forever be in my heart.
