Maureen Sue Hansen, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully in her home with her husband by her side April 7, 2013. Maureen was born on November 29, 1958, to Pat and Mavis Kooser in Marysville, Kansas. She was raised and educated in Edgewood, Washington, where she graduated from Puyallup High School in 1977. In 1981 Maureen earned a BA degree from WSU in Business Administration with special interests in Marketing, Psychology and Physical Education. She married Gary Hansen on October 14, 1989. They lived in West Seattle until 2005 when they relocated to Renton.

Maureen worked as a store manager at Radio Shack, step aerobics instructor at her local YMCA and later at the Boeing Company for 11 years as a Finance Estimator. Once her son was born in 1992 she then redirected her time to raising him and taking care of the home front.
She truly enjoyed the beauty of nature, travel and all outdoor sports (biking, hiking, skiing and regular walks along Coulon Park in Renton) as well as great memories of times spent with close family and friends. Maybe even a little passionate discussion around politics would come up. She was generous of heart, constant in faith and possessed a beautiful spirit.

Maureen will forever be in the hearts of her husband, Gary Hansen; her son Jeffrey Hansen (Jeff); her brother Douglas Kooser (Doug); her sister Colleen Mishler; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Vicki. An informal Celebration of life will be held on Saturday 4/20/2013 from 1-5pm at the Hansen's residence in Renton, WA.
