Sarah Louise Miller Rausch was born April 28, 1923, to Gertrude (Barnes) and Carlton Brooks Miller in Battle Creek, Michigan. She passed away on May 10, 2013 in Des Moines, Washington at 90 years old. She was a very bright and engaging woman who loved music and the arts, world travel and her family.

Sarah attended Oberlin College and graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1945. When the aftermath of WWII derailed her plan to attend medical school, Sarah took a position as a stewardess with United Airlines in 1946. She met and married Ervin Michael Rausch on August 4, 1948, and they remained together until Erv's death in 2008. She is survived by her brothers Rodger B Miller and Carlton W Miller and by her sons Michael Carlton Rausch, Thomas Ervin Rausch, and William Robert Rausch with his wife, Robin.
