Nordean Elaine Ronsin May 4, 1920 to October 21, 2013 age 93
Elaine was born in McMinnville, Oregon May 4, 1920 and grew up in the small town of Yamhill with her sister Elma. Her parents were Byron and Flora Moore Shuck. She graduated from Corvallis High School and attended Oregon State College. During the war she moved to Seattle, Washington where she married Wilson Albert Maisel (Ike). After the war they moved to Portland, Oregon. He died in a light aircraft accident in 1949 leaving Elaine with two young children; Lynda 5 and Dale 2 ½.
In 1955 She married "Ron" (Emile) Ronsin, continued to raise her family and help manage his grocery businesses. He died in 1973 leaving Elaine alone again to create a new life. She worked in the kitchen at Woodburn High School then retired and took off to enjoy her little SunRaider RV; she joined and went camping with a group called 'Loners On Wheels'. She traveled the west coast and abroad.
An expert seamstress, she sewed all her life making clothing and creating the family wardrobes. She ended her sewing career creating treasured quilts and produced over a dozen handmade, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted quilts. Her stitching and embroidery were impeccable.
Elaine leaves a son, Dale Arden (Maisel) Ronsin and his wife Stephanie and granddaughters, Leslie Diane Burke and Kristina Elaine Ronsin. She leaves a daughter, Lynda Kay Ott and her husband William (Bill) and granddaughter Stacy Suzanne Drake and grandson Andrew Jeffery Ott. Also three great grandchildren: Drew Ott, Gwendolyn Ott, and Sarah Drake. There are three surviving cousins of her generation: Dona Carolyn Carlisle Horine, Jim Carlisle, and Betty Hastings.
