Glenn Oren Collver passed away peacefully on December 24th at the age of 82 with his family by his side.
Glenn was born December 23, 1931 to Warren and Elvera Collver in Coos Bay, Oregon.
He was raised and went to school in Blaine Washington, later graduating from Central Kitsap High School near Bremerton Washington. Pops will forever be in our hearts and is survived by his three children, sons Dale and Brandt Collver and daughter DeAira Thompson, two sisters, Marion Fayette (of Custer Washington) and Irene Brown (of Westport Washington). Grand children, Nathan, Jesse and Shelby Collver, Derek Merryman and Kyle Bain, as well as great grand kids, Ezekiel and Tiberious.
Dad served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving his country Glenn married Aurla Reeves and started his career as a Coppersmith Apprentice for the Department of Navy at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton Washington. During the Vietnam War he worked as a Merchant Marine engineer and pipe fitter on troop transport vessels between San Francisco and Asia, several different shipyards from San Diego to Alaska and later in his career as a boiler operator at various fish canneries in Alaska.
Dad had a tremendous love for the sea and the commercial fishing industry as well. He was preceded in death by brother Warren II, and his mother and father.
