We mark the passing today of Patricia Lynn Cavin of North Bend, Washington.
Patricia died unexpectedly on September 14 following gallbladder surgery at Swedish Hospital, Issaquah, Washington.
Patricia spent more than 40 years working as a nurse; the principal focus of her work for nearly 30 of those years was providing services to the developmentally disabled.
She was a great friend to all who knew her well, and the fact is she's leaving behind two families who will miss her dearly: her family by birth, and another entire "family" of friends, coworkers, and those whose life she made better with her work.
Pat is survived by her Mother, Gertrude Boot, her sister, Beth Brisebois, and her niece and nephew, Nicole and Colin Brisebois, all of whom reside in the San Diego area.
She spent nearly 33 years living in North Bend with her self-described "spouse-ish", Don Davis; she also leaves behind two Godchildren, Kyle and Matthew Harrison, and their parents, Jim and Roberta Harrison, of Hoquiam, Washington.
She loved miniature golf, making jewelry, and roaming the thrift shops, seeking out that special treasure that might have gone unnoticed by others.
In lieu of flowers, we request that you spend just a little time, every day, telling those you love just how important they are to you.
