Ruth Irene Beckelman born December 30, 1923 in Spencer, Iowa and long-time Bellevue resident passed away recently in Seattle with family at her side. She is survived by her sister, June Giard, of Clarkston, WA.
Ruth was born in Iowa and spent much of her childhood in both Iowa and Oregon. She worked for the FBI in Washington DC after high school and later at Boeing in Seattle where she met her husband Bernie. Ruth and Bernie were married for over 65 years and had two sons, Jeffrey Beckelman of Palm City, Florida and Robert Beckelman of Green Valley, Arizona and five grandchildren. She was a remarkable wife, mother, homemaker and friend.
Ruth touched the lives of many people with her positive energy and fun-loving attitude.
The family requests that donations in her memory be made to the University of Washington Medical Center.
