Richard F. Hollmer Sr. of Des Moines, WA passed away on Monday, August 10th, 2015 at the age of 70. Rick was born to Lawrence and Loretto Hollmer on November 6th, 1944 in North Evans, NY. He was the youngest of eight children.
Rick served in the military from 1964-1967. Also in 1967, He married the love of his life, Ellie. The couple had 4 children. He worked for Georgia Pacific in Lacey, WA, Inmont Corporation in Seattle and finally Sun Chemical Corporation in Kent, WA.
He enjoyed his motorcycles, fishing and time with his grandkids. He was quite the jokester until he passed. He was a member and past president of the Green River Saddle Club in Auburn, WA and also a member of the Washington State Old Time Fiddlers Association.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ellie; 3 sons: Barry, Will and Rick Jr.; Daughter: Lori; 6 grandkids: Jennifer, Amanda, Scotty, Jake, Alexis and Austin; Sisters: Joan Sturm, Marilyn Bobseine, Carol Zablonski, Edith Sterner and Brother Lawrence Jr. (Skip). He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters Arline Turnbull and Loretto Hollmer and his Great Nephew Gary Vassallo Jr.
Rick was cremated and his ashes will be spread by the family in a private ceremony.
