Lola Elizabeth Isabel Branston Weyer rode out to greener pastures on the morning of September 1st, 9 days before her 102nd birthday. Although she suffered from dementia the last few years of her long life, Lola never had anything but kindness and concern for everyone around her. She was an amazing woman who was both loved and cherished by family, friends, and caretakers.

Lola was born September 10th, 1913 to Alma and Arthur Branston in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She spent her early years riding her retired ex-race horse, Speed, to town and school; and yes, even in the snow! Her family subsequently moved to Palouse, Washington where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she moved to the Kirkland area in order to help her aging grandparents. She met her wonderful husband to be, William "Bill" Franklin Weyer, while working in the office at Harrison Dye (Laundry) Works in Seattle . After getting married, they built their first home in the Des Moines area of Seattle and began their family, raising their two well loved children, Penny and Brant.

In 1949, the family moved to Waverly Way in Kirkland, into what would be the second and final house that they would own. That very first Sunday after moving, they went to Rose Hill Presbyterian Church where they met what would be lifelong closest friends Billie and Wib Franklin. Bill and Lola quickly became active members of the church, which turned into a most important, cherished aspect of their lives.

In 1956, with few office skills, Lola started working as the school secretary at Factoria Elementary in Bellevue. Two years later, she moved to the newly built Woodridge Elementary School, having been recruited there by the eager new principal. She worked there until retiring 29 years later, at 72 years of age. Lola loved "her children" at Woodridge and was loved by them...and the staff.

Lola lost her dear husband Bill in 1974, but always managed to stay positive in life. She continued to work, was active in the church, and loved and cared for every member of her growing family. Her amazing strength, faith and love for all will be remembered and missed by everyone she touched.

Lola is survived by her two children: Penelope (Penny) Martin (Don) and Branston (Brant) Weyer (Kelly); her seven grandchildren: Kimberly Martin (Glen), Lisa Joyner (Rob), Kristine Hays, Jennifer Martin, Samuel Weyer (Taryn), Jacob Weyer, Sarah Weyer; her nine great-grandchildren: Jennifer M. Martin, Chandra Martin, Laura Martin, Patrek Martin, Natasha Joyner Mathias (Olivier), Cassandra Joyner, Jason Hays (Melissa), Daniel Hays, Michael Fisher; and her one great-great grandchild: Kenyatta Martin; as well as her niece Sally Schmidt Shinstrom (Bob).
