In his short 60 years, he was a devoted and loving brother, uncle and friend. He was a positive and passionate presence in the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be forever missed.
I will forever miss my Uncle Steve. He was a courageous soldier, a loving family man, and always a happy guy. He was always an optimistic and ambitious soul. He never once had a frown on his face. He loved his job painting houses. He dedicated most of his life to his work, making others shine with pride for having such a remarkably, well painted place to live in and call home. Other than his family, Steve's pets were important and a huge part of his life. He valued the friendship an animal could give to him. Steve leaves behind 3 sisters, 2 brothers, nieces, nephews, their children, and many more. In his short 60 years, he did what others only dream of and rarely come close to accomplishing. He was in the military, a skilled photographer (taking pictures of several famous people like Madonna and Blondie), took many college classes and courses, was a professional painter, traveled the world, met one of ever kind of human being God has created, and witnessed catastrophes and miracles; all while staying humble and dedicated to himself, his passions, and beliefs. For most everyone reading this, you will never understand the joy and overwhelming feeling of hope Steve brought to each life he encountered. Truly, this man will be in the hearts of many for a lifetime. I myself am lucky to call uncle and witness all his imperfect-perfections. "Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal...but love leaves a memory that no one can steal". Thank you for everything, Uncle Steve. We love you. ~You Southern Family.
