John Thomas Bigger passed away Oct. 5, 2015 five days short of his fifty-third birthday. He came into the world at Providence Hospital, Seattle, during the 1962 Columbus Day storm, and departed on a gorgeous fall afternoon. Friends and family kept him company at Evergreen Hospice, Bothell as the final steps in his courageous battle with oral cancer played out.
John is survived by his wife Lisa Brushafer, son Chase Bigger, parents Mary and Gary Bigger, sister, Kathryn (Bill) Boyle, treasured friends and extended family. He was a 1980 graduate of Mt. Rainier High School where he participated in track. John drove trucks in the wholesale floral industry. Like his grandfather Bigger, he enjoyed being on the road.
John had a passion for music, cooking and the outdoors. He loved Rock but collected a wide variety of albums. Barbequing for friends and family was high on his fun list along with brewing beer to go with it. He also gardened and canned, delighting in garlic and the brightness of peppers. He planted a small orchard and made wine as well. Camping, fishing, family day trips, reading and watching sports were strong interests.
His family was always foremost. He will be sorely missed. John requested cremation and no formal service. The family will have an informal gathering to celebrate his life; date to be determined.
John was a great father, husband and friend who will be truly missed by everyone. I will forever remember John and his memories will last in the music that he loved.
"Life brings tears, smiles, and memories. The tears dry, the smile fades, but the memories live on forever."
With heartfelt sympathy - prayers and thoughts -
I always enjoyed talking music with John and we did that almost every day at work before he left on his deliveries.. He was the only guy that had a larger record collection than mine and often brought treats in for me to listen to.Thank you for that , John, you will be missed. Jon Bergstrom
