Nathan L Berry was born to David and Linda on June 11, 1982, in Panorama City, California. When he finished high school, Nathan attended college in Grove City, PA. He was inspired by the terrorist attack of 9/11 to enlist in the Army in 2004. With the Army he passed the language qualifying test so he attended the Defense Language Institute and became a Cryptologic Linguist with the Korean Language. He later advanced to both a Watch Officer and a Defense Analyst.
While serving in the Army in Korea, Nathan met the love of his live, Yeonsil. They were married on Oct 21, 2012. In the years since, she has been with him during the best and worst of his life.
Upon leaving the Army in 2010 he worked as a contractor for defense companies in Korea before returning in 2013 to the US to return to school - first at the University of Arizona, then to UC Berkeley Law School. He expected to receive his law degree in 2018 and even had an offer to work at a law firm in Hawaii after graduation.
Nathan was diagnosed with AML (a form of Leukemia) in March of 2014. He endured multiple chemotherapy treatments to remove it, but the cancer later relapse. Nathan could not rest even hi his hospital bed, because God had shown him the sin in his life. He was filled with godly sorrow, repented of all his sin, and believed in Jesus Christ for salvation. He had immediate peace even though his health was in greater danger than ever.
Nathan's cancer treatment culminated in a bone marrow transplant in May of last year, at the VA hospital in Seattle, Washington. While the new marrow was successfully accepted as new marrow, his body rejected the donation. He fought valiantly against his own body's attacks, and after a long battle, on April 11, 2017, Nathan left his early body and entered the presence of God.
