The checkered flag waved over Ron McDuffie for the final time on 02/13/2018. Although Ron's professional sales career included typewriters as a young man then moving on to computer printers, GPS applications/ equipment for domestic and international customers and Coordinate Measuring Machines for the aerospace industry, his passion was motor sports. He grew up in the Olympia area and first raced outboard hydroplanes as a teenager until he discovered that a Corvette attracted more girls than a fast boat! Moving to the Seattle area in the mid 60's he joined the Corvette Marque Club of Seattle and developed a large group of friends, who are still together today... 50 years later. Club members helped him build a Corvette for competition in the Sports Car Club of America TransAm professional road racing series where he competed successfully in the 70's. He later raced Go Carts and then rejoined road racing in a Camaro for the SCCA American Sedan Class. After his road racing career he used his mechanical skills to construct a Shelby Cobra kit car just for the fun of it. In retirement Ron enjoyed traveling about the west coast and Maui with the love of his life Sandra Ford Schenkar. He is survived by Sandra, Adrienne, and Alex Schenkar, and a host of close friends.

Condolences to you all. Ron and I attended OHS together. Time goes so quickly. May your memories be happy ones. Barbara Bower Ruth
Sandra I want to send my thoughts & prayers to you & your family. Ron was a special friend in high school and later in life. I am glad we got to share time together at the 55th reunion of the OHS Class of 1961. Ron had a way of always making the day brighter. Elaine Fischer House from our class remembers walking hand in hand with Ron to the school bus on the first day of grade school. Another remembers how he made the school bus rides fun. We will all miss him!
Ron and I were great friends in high school and thereafter. We had many "Firsts" together as we crused in our cars on weekends around Olympia and sometimes Tacoma. He in his Ford and me in my Chevy. Dated our girl friends together and learned how to be young men. Life seemed simpler then but actually we learned a lot about how to live life. As we got older and our careers went in different directions I often missed hanging out together and now am sad that he has passed. I had serious cancer issues now 20 years ago so know of that challenge. In some ways he may be the lucky one. But for sure he was a good guy and I liked him a lot. Good bye my friend, Bob Gerth, OHS Class of 61
My sincere condolences for your family and friends. Please be assured of God's love for you and of his desire to support you during distressing times. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)
Thanks Ron for 15+ years of working with me and the Corvette Marque Club of Seattle School Daze event planning, ground school, and instructing on the day of our event each year. One of the greatest things a person can give to another is their time and you gave every year without fail. You made our event better and you made a better driver out of me.

Thanks Ron for your Happy Smiling Face every time we saw each other at Corvette Marque Club meetings , Christmas Parties, auto crosses, all your races and liveliness and fun you brought with you everyplace you went. Save me a couple of parking spaces in Heaven so I can park my Vette next to or near your steed. I/We will not forget YOU ! Carl J Mollnow
Thank you Ron for the close friendship we shared for 49 years. You will be missed. Frank
We truly enjoyed our time with Ron in our relationship with him as Sandra's brother and sister-in-law. (Sandra is my sister: Sandra Ford Schenkar). Ron brought much happiness into Sandra's life because of his interest in traveling both locally and regionally. They had several happy trips to Maui, HI as well as ventures to New Mexico and western Canada!! Ron's big smile, deep voice, and overall happiness will be remembered by all of us! Remember this in heaven, Ron: be the lead car in the race and let us "draft" you!!
Anthony and Renee Ford
