Mr. Eddy Fukano passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon in Seattle, Washington surrounded by the love of family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Shima Fukano, daughter Sakura, and brother Yasuhiro. He will be greatly missed by his friend "Tanuki" Tanaka, Ms. Koyama, and Mr and Mrs Jay Hassel, and fondly remembered by extended family, friends, fellow artists and musicians, students, and fans.

Remembrance gatherings in honour of Eddy will be held privately.

Memorial:
In honour of his lifelong contribution to music, his students, the rare opportunities he was given, and 50 years performing and entertaining the Seattle community, memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to SMP, the charitable organisation bringing the gift of music instruction to the youth of Seattle.

I am very grateful for his encouragement , vocal instruction and his faith in my abilities as a vocalist. He helped me to break through my fear of singing in front of people. I also appreciated his gift of hospitality - inviting me to join his friends for various events and introducing me to many wonderful Japanese dishes I might never had enjoyed before. I enjoyed singing with his other students and friends and listening to his stories of his career. Eddy - you will be greatly missed!

My appreciation to vocal teacher Eddy Fukano. He taught to me how to sing step by step. I will keep singing without forget what I learned. Jun Tanaka

So sorry for your loss. I remember Eddy when he performed at the Wagon Club in Portland, OR years ago. Too bad his guitar was "made in USA!" LOL! What a sweet, talented man. Wish I could have seen him perform one last time. Love and hugs. Rest in peace little man.
