With much sadness our sweet Mom, Grandmother, Friend Lenora Longfellow passed away on August 8, 2018, at the age of 88.

Lenora was the youngest of 7 children born to Earl and Ollie Newman in San Antonio, TX. Married Dale Longfellow in 1950 starting this part of her life in the Air Force family and raising 2 girls. The family moved to Tacoma, WA after Dale's military retirement, where she worked for the City of Tacoma Police Department and proudly completed her business education degree at UPS. Eventually retiring as a federal civil service employee of the US Navy at the Bremerton Ship Yard.

Lenora is survived by her loving children Pat Williams , Catherine (Alan) Lindstrom; grandchildren Jeremy Ofstad, Tiffany (Mitch) Raich; Step Grandchild Ericka(Tim) Ruiz; Great Grandchild Carson; Step Great Grandchildren Spencer, Parker, Lucy; her sister Dora Nuhn (age 101) , and extended family. Preceded in death by her siblings; Myrtle, Lloyd, Robert, Louise and Earl.

She had a selfless heart of gold, shared unconditional love, such a sweet smile and dedicated faith in God. She enjoyed sewing , decorating for all holidays, puttering in her yard, novels and read the daily newspaper cover to cover. She was a proud Texan at heart.

The family would like to Thank Dr. Baum of Kaiser Permanente, Tammy, Debbie and the staff at The Brookdale-Puyallup South for taking care of our Mom.

Services will be held at Spanaway Lutheran Church, 16001 A St S. Spanaway, WA on August 25th at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spanaway Lutheran Church; Alzheimer's Research; or a charity of your choice.
