Donald (Don) Walter Lehman, Jr. passed away peacefully December 20, 2018 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 78. Don was born and raised in Portland Oregon graduating from U. S. Grant High School in 1958. He attended Portland State University, leaving to avidly pursue his love, music and entertainment. His medium of choice was radio, although he briefly appeared on a local Portland television station. His radio training was on the job training; however, he trained as a radio operator and technician in the U.S. Army while stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He was Honorably Discharged September 15, 1964, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
As a disc jockey he met and befriended many entertainment luminaries. He had a vast knowledge of music and music history; he employed this knowledge throughout his life and career. His walls were covered with photos of entertainers with complementary salutations. His stories were plentiful, sharing his unique experiences in the world of entertainment. He would rendezvous with his celebrity friends at various locales, his favorites being the Grand Ole Opry and other Nashville haunts.
Don was a devoted fan of the Seahawks and Mariners. As a fan one of his fondest memories was attending Super Bowl XLVIII when the Seahawks defeated the Broncos.
In the latter days of Don's life he lived and was cared for by Providence Mount St. Vincent, Seattle, Washington and became a member of their "family." The Staff and residents enjoyed his tales and friendship. He created resident music play lists and his friends were astounded at his ability to identify any recording artist seconds into a song; he knew his stuff. He was creative until his passing.
Don was a gentle soul loving and caring for everyone and thing. His generosity to others was supreme. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his brother Jim Lehman and Jim's wife Joyce of Reno, Nevada.
