Gail Susan Chase, 89, of Seattle, Washington, died on March 4th, 2019, surrounded by family.
Gail was born April 10, 1929, in Seattle, the daughter of late Charles and Geraldine Matheus.
Gail was a Dreamer, Artist, Mother and Friend to many in the United States and abroad. Gail set high standards for herself and others upholding humanity, artistic freedom and political discussions. Gail was never afraid of voicing her opinions, but respectful of those who were not foolish with their knowledge, honest and able to discuss their truth and ideas with passion. Gail lived her life to the fullest, her art was prominent in all that she did.
Her friends and family lived and loved the community Gail brought to the table such as Kas in Turkey, just one of the many places she loved, and the setting for her book The Eye and the Eyebrow. Her time in Turkey, and elsewhere, fueled her adventures with her writing, fine art photography and sharing stories with all her friends. Gail was able to spend the last five years in the Parkshore community, in Seattle.
Gail will be missed dearly as our lives were enriched through her zest of life and desire to "Try it all". Our hope is to carry on her love of life and challenging conversations, to grow and make our world a better place in beauty, community and family.
Gail is survived by her daughters Su, Cathy, Cammi and son Chuck Chase, all of Seattle, her grandchildren, Hank and Jackson Droege, Abbey Chase, Amira Willumson and her great grandson, Raiden Chase.
