After a brief illness, Charles A. Baldwin, 84, passed away peacefully in Lynnwood, WA on May 15, 2019.
Charles was born in Tacoma, WA in 1935 to Ephraim and Rebekah Baldwin. He attended Stadium High School before enlisting in the Army, serving during the Korean War. Charles married in 1956 and raised two children. After an honorable discharge, he spent the rest of his career working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an electrical engineer. Primarily working on new hospital construction, he was assigned to various military projects, both around the United States and overseas, where he traveled with his family. His last assignment was in Anchorage, AK, after which he retired in 2003 to Graham, WA.
Charles was active in his church and enjoyed traveling, working in his garden, and building wood furniture and other items in his shop. But he most enjoyed doting on his three grandchildren, who shall miss him terribly. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 59 years, Carol Baldwin.
Charles is survived by his son Charles A. Baldwin, Jr. (Vivian) of Woodland, GA, daughter Carol Ann Dyson (Jeffrey) of Everett, grandson Lance Dyson (Diane) of London, granddaughter Holly Erickson (Andrew) of Lynnwood, and grandson Kyle Dyson of Everett.
Also surviving are sister Mabel West of Spokane, brother Bob Sauter, Spokane, and brother-in-law Larry Defore (Peggy) of Juliette, GA, along with numerous cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Tuesday 5/28 at 12:30 PM.
Arrangements by Cascade Memorial, 425-641-6100.
