How Did We Do?

Charice "Reese" Nicole DuBose Callueng lost her courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer on Friday, July 12, 2019. Born May 9, 1987 in Tacoma, WA at Madigan Army Hospital she was 32 years young. Charice was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Carswell DuBose, maternal grandfather Rodger Jackson and Special Grandparents Jessie L. Ware Sr. and Meriam M. Ware.

Prior to leaving this life, Charice blessed this world with two precious daughters, Isabella Gloria Callueng and Athena Grace Callueng. She is also survived by her parents, Carl and Regina(McKechnie) DuBose and one brother Malcolm T. DuBose, all of Kent, WA., her maternal grandmother Gloria D. McKechnie of Burien, WA, paternal grandmother Agnes S. DuBose of Orlando, FL. Aunts LaDonna McKechnie of Covington, WA, Carlene Dodson of Schenectady, NY and Laurarene Ward of Las Vegas, NV. Uncles William K. DuBose(Rosa) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Maurice L. DuBose of Orlando, FL, John F. DuBose(Jolene) of Brussells, Belgium, Jessie L. Ware Jr., Duane C. Ware(Alicia), William A. Ware(Malinda) and Dale C. Ware, all of Newburgh, NY. Also, a great number of cousins and special friends whose love and support inspired Charice to battle up to her final moments. Jamie Cordova and Eric Johnson are two such friends who deserve special recognition for their dedication to Charice's comfort and care.

Charice attended The Highline 401 School District and graduated from Highline High School in 2005. An accomplished soccer and softball player since grade school, she participated and lettered in both sports at Highline. It was also during her high school years as a Drama student that Charice developed her love for The Theater and Broadway shows with the play "Rent" standing out as her all-time favorite. As a popular Highline "Pirate" Charice rarely missed a school dance or event. She also began dating a very well-mannered, respectful young man named Robert Callueng whom she would eventually marry and produce their two remarkable little girls.

A consistently hard worker, Charice was employed for more than ten years for the Walgreens Company, advancing from a ten hour a week greeting card sorter to lead Assistant Manager before switching to the medical field where she quickly became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Unfortunately, her education and career advancement goals were cut short by the untimely diagnosis of her illness.

There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony for Charice on Friday, July 26 2019 from 1pm till 3pm at Cascade Memorial, 1109 S. 348th Street, Suite A, in Federal Way, WA 98003. All are welcome to join the family and share their memories of this Beautiful, Amazing Young Woman!!

I just want to give my condolences to Charices' family and friends, especially her two daughters. I have many great memories with Charice, as I've known her since middle school at Sylvester. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met and am so thankful to have called her my friend. I love you so much Charice. May you rest easy and look over your beautiful daughters.
