How Did We Do?

Scott McBain, of Kirkland WA passed away on July 13th, 2019 at his home under the care of Evergreen Hospice, after a 5 year battle with cancer.
Scott was born October 1, 1957 in Devils Lake ND to the late Russ and Violette McBain. His family moved to Walhalla where Scott went to school and graduated from Walhalla High School in 1975.
He enrolled at Mayville State College where he graduated with a degree in business administration. After graduation from Mayville, he enrolled in graduate school at the University of North Dakota.
Scott married Kelly Holt on September 6, 1986. They moved to Washington state where together they raised two daughters.
Scott worked in the computer industry in Seattle for many years. Scott's work allowed him to travel internationally for many years. He had a sense of adventure and he loved visiting different countries and had friends all over the world.
No matter how far he traveled or what amazing things he saw, he was always happy to come home to his girls.
Scott was a devoted dad to his two daughters, attending all their activities whenever he could. He and his family had wonderful time taking short trips to explore the Pacific Northwest and he often commented on how lucky he felt to live in such a beautiful place.
Scott is survived by his wife, Kelly, his two daughters Cassandra McBain and Haleigh McBain, both living in the Seattle area as well as the light of his life, his granddaughter Adelise. Adelise lived with him for the last two years and he loved having her so close to him so he could he could see her every day. He is also survived by his sister Paula Reed, as well as his niece and god-daughter, Meghann Steinolfson and his nephew Alan Steinolfson, as well as his in-laws Pat and Bill Holt, brother -in-law Shane Holt as well as brother - in law Darin Holt
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in law, Corey Holt.

May he rest in peace in God's hands

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your girls. We will fondly remember the "deep" discussions on any topic. I also can't help but smile when I think of the Pinto going through the blizzard to get Marv for my 21st birthday. Scott will be missed.

Kelly, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Many Friday night pizza runs in college with Scott and the boys. I will always remember his wit, humor, and laughter along with his great trivia background knowledge. May he be at peace now. God Bless!

Always remember Scott's kindness; remember how he would always take all your dried flowers and put them in the garage when I was coming to visit? His thoughtfulness around my allergy to dried flowers was remarkable! My love is with you, Cassie and Haleigh
