How Did We Do?

James Berry Hagan was born on May 14, 1951, in Oldenburg Germany. He was the first of his four siblings: Joanne Trykar (Mike), Kathlene Chadband (Dave who passed away), Maureen Steffens (Dave) and Daniel Hagan. He grew up in a loving family with their navy career father, Daniel James Hagan and mother, Anne Berry Hagan, who both loved them dearly and made a loving home wherever the Navy took them. Jim attended Pacifica High School, class of 70, in Garden Grove, CA. He joined the Army at 19, where he served honorably. He married Anne who gave him his two greatest gifts, their two daughters: Amber Holstein (Kuhio) and Jamie McDonald (Steve) and his most recent treasure, grandbaby Ruthie Anne, who was born December 19th, 2018. His second wife, Patricia Ann, preceded him in death on November 28, 2018, which left him heartbroken. He loved his family, guns, fishing, motorcycles, Westerns, barbeque, fixing things, building things, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Jim was admitted to the VA Puget Sound MICU on July 1st, 2019, and fought hard to stay with us. Although he received excellent care, he passed away on July 19th due to septic shock. He did not want to leave any of us, but was able to say his goodbyes to his sisters and daughters. He will be remembered lovingly and missed deeply. Memorial services for Jim will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA, on August 15th at 11:30 am.

Dear Dad,
My heart is broken knowing that I will never talk, see, or hug you again. I can't believe that you are gone. You were taken too soon, so many moments that will never be. I do know that you are content and happy to be with Pat again and also Grandma and Grandpa. I love you and will treasure my memories of you. I promise to do my best to "Be Happy".
I love you always, Amber

CandleDear Jim, I think of you all the time and cannot believe you won't be calling or visiting me. I hope Bailey met you at the rainbow bridge and that Pat was happy to see you; I know so many angels that are celebrating your arrival; just wish they could have waited longer. Miss you bunches....until we meet again, RIP. P.S. I wish you could tell me where my main water valve turnoff is? Check in with Dave and send me a sign soon. xxoo
