On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, Maria Corazon Uy Zalamea, loving wife and mother of three sons, passed away at age 75.

Maria was born on September 23, 1943 in Manila, Philippines to Issac Uy and Benedicta Nuqui. She received her bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Sto. Tomas and worked as a nurse in their family-owned dermatology clinic. On November 28, 1975, she married Efren B. Zalamea who was then with the US Navy and they settled in Tacoma, Washington where they raised three sons, Erasmus, Elvin and Elfren.

Maria worked as a psychiatric RN for the state of Washington and a hospice RN to various nursing agencies. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit. She lived a prayerful life following the prayer devotions and spiritual activities through EWTN TV Channel.

Maria is survived by her Husband Efren, her three sons Erasmus, Elvin and Elfren; her sister Naty in Canada, sister Norma in Las Vegas, sisters Ramira Osb, Juanita, Lorraine, Victoria and Victorina who are residing in the Philippines, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, brothers and sister in law.

Maria's husband and three sons are thankful to everyone who shared their expressions of sympathy and condolences. Your support and thoughts have made this difficult time a little easier.
