Mary Glyn Jones Timmins was born on August 17, 1921 in Brinkley, Arkansas. She was one of three children born to Emma Warr Jones and Robert Lee Jones. She had two brothers, Robert and Craig. Her dad, Robert, was a Rail Conductor and her mom, Emma, was a nurse.

Mary met and married Wesley Timmins. He was a sergeant in the US Army serving his three year commitment.
They were married August 21, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mary followed her new husband to the University of Indiana where Wesley completed his BA degree in History.

Mary loved traveling and was able to travel to many destinations that people only dream about. Mary believed that travel was a means of broadening the mind. While Mary loved her role as an officer's wife and mother, she did find time to work part-time as a bookkeeper, receptionist, and a seamstress for Barnum & Bailey Circus. Mary was an amazing cook, a talented artist, and a gifted seamstress. Those who knew her best would tell you that her peanut butter pies were to die for and she could make a mean goulash.

Mary was an avid reader. She loved a variety of books. She loved being the hostess with the mostess when it came to entertaining. Mary loved family. After her husband died, Mary moved from Florida to Washington where she could be by family. She was able to enjoy an active role in our lives, but also in the lives of her grandkids and great-grand
kids. She was loved being a mother, grandma, and great grandma. Those who really knew Mary remember her southern grace, quick wit, and charming sense of humor. She took every opportunity she could to brag about her family.

We can rest assured that Mary is with the Lord. She was without Wesley for 37 long years and I can only imagine what a wonderful homecoming that was for them on September 14. While we are grieving here, she was gleefully reunited with the Lord and her husband. What an amazing moment that must've been for her. Her earthly life of 98 years brought so many wonderful memories that will comfort us until we are united with Mary Timmins again someday.
