Denise Michelle Sanchez
Born: January 6th 1944
Died: January 19th 2020

Denise Michelle Sanchez was born on January 6th 1944 in Seattle, Washington to George and Estefanita Sanchez. She was born on the Epiphany (Little Christmas).
She passed away on January 19th 2020. She joins her parents, sister (Rita Harr), ex-husband (Dean Henbest), and son-in-law (David Jack).
She went to St. Patrick's grade school, attended Holy Names Academy, and Lincoln High School. She also attended Lake Washington Vocational School and became a certified auto and marine upholster.
She was an Employee of La Mexicana Grocery (The Mexican Grocery) at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington for many years.
Denise enjoyed garage sales and thrift shops and would often take her granddaughters and great granddaughter with her to find treasures.
Her passion was cooking traditional foods such as enchiladas, chili rellenos, salsa and tamales. She passed down some of these cooking traditions by having cooking parties where she taught family members how to perfect her recipes. These are gatherings that will never be forgotten.
One of her greatest joys was to cook with her great granddaughter Bella.
She was a very generous and compassionate person and helped many in her life time.
Denise leaves behind her daughter Brenda Jack, granddaughters Breana Nielsen (grandson-in-law Gene Nielsen) and Brittany Jack along with great granddaughters Isabella Shubin, Harley Digioia, Kira Nielsen, Mackenzie Nielsen and Haley Nielsen. In addition, she leaves her faithful little Yorkie Bentley.
Denise is also survived by her brother George I. Sanchez (California), sister Brenda Sanchez (Washington) and sister-in-law, Cara Tabares (Washington).
Denise's legacy also includes: 9 nieces, 7 nephews, 7 great nieces, 5 great nephews, 3 great-great nephews and 1 great- great-great niece- as well as many cousins.
She will be greatly missed. Knowing that she is now at rest and in the hands of the Lord, surrounded by many family members that have gone before her give the family peace.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.
A very special thank you to the hospice angels that helped Denise in her final days. They made sure she was comfortable and respected her wishes.
