How Did We Do?

In Honor of Mary Kay Greiner
Our mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Mary Greiner, age 61 was called home on Wednesday May 20, 2020. Mary was preceded in passing by her loving father Martin Greiner, Amazing Mother Bernice (Blatchford) Greiner, as well as the eldest sister Linda Heidlebaugh in her memory will be her two sons; Merlin and Benjamin Ivanoff, Her Siblings eldest Jenny Yingling, David Greiner, Wesley Greiner, Mark Greiner, youngest brother James Greiner as well as the many friends that became family over the years.
Mary was born in Anchorage, Alaska on Tuesday May 27th 1958. She was Raised in Alaska spending her youth in Anchorage and Homer. She graduated from Auburn Seventh Day Adventist Academy class of 1977. Mary went on to graduate from culinary arts school, where her passion for cooking was taken to the next level.
Mary was a beautiful woman, with a lot of spunk, an incredible sense of humor, and a heart that could hold the world. She had an incredible passion for cooking and wanted more than anything to feed everyone that walked through her door, making dinners just so she could watch you eat it. The truth is that Mary loved nothing more than watching her boys grow up. She loved to spend time with friend and family laughing and reminiscing about their growing up in Alaska and the many days spent with family. Mary also enjoyed watching the Mariners play, planting her garden, and spoiling here pets. In her time here, which feels to short, Mary loved so many with so many beautiful people, and created so many beautiful memories that we are all truly going to miss her more than we could ever express. We love you Mom and until we see you again, we will keep you in our hearts.
A service is being planned for a future date where we can all gather and share memories. Our family wants to thank you for the support and blessing through this difficult time, and would like to ask that In loue of flowers donation can be sent to:

TERRI (Croskey) JENSEN on Sep 19, 2023

I’m so sorry to see this. I think of my childhood friend Mary often. She was a really fun and out going friend. She called my grandma, grandma Croskey. We used to take Mary out to the homestead in Kasilof with us. Her parents had my grandma and I over for lunch after church a few times. It was the first time I saw what a big family would be like. Very fun!
One time, I think I was in my late 20’s, I heard her unmistakable voice in the store. I yelled, Mary Greiner, is that you, she came around the corner and yelled Terri Croskey at the top of her lungs. We laughed and hugged and reminisced about Anchorage. I’m sure her passing has left a hole in the family no one could ever fill. I’m very sorry for your loss.
