How Did We Do?

Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, and friend; Sarah A. McCarron returned to her heavenly home on March 5, 2021.

Born in Dalhart, Texas on January 12, 1933, Sarah had indomitable spirit. She was born to John Wesley Farmer Sr. and Lela Lorene Jackson and was the only girl among five brothers. She loved playing with her brothers when she was little and frequently used her mother's broom as a stick horse. Though she grew up without a television, she loved listening to The Lone Ranger on the radio and going to the movie house on Saturday for $0.15. Sarah loved her mother dearly, who passed too young, and spoke of how her mother could sew anything and how much she adored her children.

Sarah was proud of her Native American ancestry and grew up in Barstow, California. It was there that she met Maurice Eugene McCarron when he came home from his service in the Navy after World War II. They married in Kingman, Arizona on December 26, 1952. He is the true love of her life, and in their 57 years of marriage, they raised seven children. Harold McCarron and Shannon Kay McCarron went before Sarah and were there to welcome her, with her beloved husband Maurice, as she came home. Their children Bonnie Purbaugh, Michael McCarron, Patrick McCarron, Rebecca Greenhalgh, and Karen Rodeback strive to carry on her tradition of having strength, giving generously, and showing love.

She loved her children wholeheartedly and cared about their safety far into their adult lives. She would frequently request they call whenever they go home, so she knew they were safe. She loved talking, especially with her children, but had friendship to share with all. Everyone gravitated towards Sarah for her wit, her friendliness, and her thoughtfulness. She was never too busy to listen, most especially to her children. She will be missed by all who knew her.

While we dearly miss you, mom, we are happy to know that you are no longer in pain and that you are with dad again. That brings us peace as well as the many memories of you laughing, talking, and being so present in our lives. Thank you for loving us so well. We love you, too. Goodnight, we love you, and sweet dreams...until we meet again soon.

CandleI love you Mom and miss you so much! My drive home from work is so lonely, I loved calling you everyday. Thank you for loving me every second of every day even when I didn't love myself. I cannot find the words to express how broken I feel without you here with me. Thank you for giving me a home and a family when you didn't have to. Hug Dad for me!
