How Did We Do?

Jacqueline Elizabeth St. John passed away on August 26, 2021, three days past her 31st birthday. She died in her sleep in the home of family who loved her.
Jackie was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a friend, and a mother. She loved easily and deeply. She was generous and would go all in on her friends. Family was important to her. She seemed to really enjoy large family events and was especially tender to her grammy and grampy.
As a little girl Jackie gravitated to cotton dresses as she ran the neighborhood. Less than coordinated on land she earned the nickname crash, but in the water, she was a fish and loved the annual family vacation to San Juan Island and the customary "swim across the lake." She always enjoyed camping with the family and she and mom would fish together in mountain rivers. Of all her siblings, Jackie was most likely to help dad with various construction and furniture projects. It was a chilly February night when she and dad planed the maple boards that would become the family table on the back patio.
Jackie had a beautiful singing voice and seemed to know the words to every song, a trait she passed on to her daughter Rylie. She liked music of every kind. She also liked to do art projects with beads and colored pencils. One of her favorite things was the annual mother/daughter get-together to bake and frost Christmas cookies.
School and Jackie weren't exactly the best of friends. Jackie was smart but testing was hard. Still, she persisted. She attended Lake Grove Elementary, Lakota Junior High School, and Federal Way High School. She went on to earn her GED at Green River Community College and her AA at Highline Community College. The pinnacle was passing her state exams to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
Jackie's first real job was working at Papa John's. Her family benefited from the free extra cheese on their pizzas and Jackie became a shift supervisor at only 18. Using her CMA, Jackie worked doing in-home care for the elderly and later worked in a care facility. She always had a warm heart towards the aged.
After being on her own since 18, at 24 Jackie moved back home with mom and dad and gave birth to her daughter, Rylie Elizabeth. Jackie deeply loved Rylie and mother and daughter held a special bond. They shared their blue eyes and fair fair skin. They did not share Jackie's klutziness as Rylie is sure footed and athletic.
Jackie is survived by her daughter Rylie, her father and mother Ken and Julie St. John, her Grandmother Anne Mazetier, her brothers Aaron and his wife, Angelina Allen St. John, Peter and his wife, Hillary St. John, and her sisters, Sheena Murphy and Annie and her husband Andy Burt.
Jackie is at peace now but her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
We love you Jackie.
