How Did We Do?

Wichita, KS - Bellevue, WA

The world's strongest woman has passed peacefully to her reward.

A Kansas girl of the Greatest Generation, whose adventures made Dorothy's pale in comparison. Donna's life was a study in strength, love, and faith; from surviving a barn fire to fashion model, cross-country exploits to contributing to building of the Space Needle and Boeing's successes, involvement in the early days of Bellevue to early days of St. Peter's church, hostessing amazing parties to surviving multiple cancers, orphaned in the Depression to raising a family with pride and distinction into the 21st century. Donna sacrificed much and endured more, always putting others' needs ahead of her own as a fierce supporter and defender of family, with an instinctive intelligence and creativity to rival both Martha Stewart and Rube Goldberg that amazed all.

Her fortitude and resilience were enviable, her caring and dedication were an honor. She was witnessed to give her last energies to rally and breathe a comforting "I love you" to her children. Her family and many friends are grateful she is now deservedly at peace in the arms of our Lord.

Widowed eight years, Donna regretfully left children Michael (Nikki), Michele (Sal), granddaughter Amy (Seth), brother Jack (Coleta), nephew John (and family), as well as granddog Sully, and many friends and neighbors whose caring and support made a real difference through the years.

At her request no ceremonies will be held. As she was a supporter of many, remembrances should be made to the charity of your choice, and time always taken to hug someone "just because."

I got to know Donna better when I starte was Donna was a pleasure to be with. Always cheerful and appreciative when she had to ask for a ride. I will miss her

Donna was a special friend - always ready to listen to your worries and have a bite of lunch together. She was very faithful to the lord and the church and practiced her devotions every morning. I will miss her in my life.

I miss Donna. I enjoyed getting to know her and listening to her stories. She had an amazing life! I loved the view from her living room - a wonderful way to see the lake and the mountains! We went out to lunch many times - we found that we both enjoyed Mexican food. Donna had a strong faith, and she went to St. Peter's as often as she could. She loved catching up with people there, checking in to see how they were doing. Her presence will be missed by many.

CandleMy sincere condolences at the passing of your mother, Ms Donna Dodd. Donna was as always striving and offering her thoughts, concerns and possible ways to move and make St Peter’s a better church. She will be missed, and we thank God for her. Rev Dr Steve & Kasandra Baber
