How Did We Do?

With deep sorrow, we lost our beloved Judith "Judy" F. Ware, 79, at home on Oct. 28, 2021.

Judy was born in Seattle, Wash. to Virgil A. and Laura M. Maffey. She graduated from Lincoln High School and later received her nursing degree.

Judy found her calling as a nurse and worked at Visiting Nurse Services for years. She later worked at many local senior centers. At the age of 62, Judy was not afraid to start her own business in the health field. With her sweetness and easy laugh, Judy made many friends along the way. She continued helping her clients until 2017.

In 1994, she and her husband, Marv, found their paradise--a small piece of land in Monroe, Wash. She loved living in the country with her family and her beloved animals.

Judy loved horses, was an ardent Elvis fan and enjoyed collecting dolls. Judy's cherished pastime was spending time with her horse, Rosie, whom she loved for more than 20 years. A heartfelt thanks to Rachel for making it possible for Judy to keep Rosie all of these years.

Judy loved her purple hair that her daughter Karla dyed regularly for her.

Judy was a kind and generous woman who was loved by everyone she met. She created a legacy of love with her family and friends. She will continue to be a joy in the hearts of those she touched.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Ware

Judy is survived by her three children, Karla J. Carlmas-Serrano, KaLynn Coffey, and Robert A. Ware; two grandchildren, Fabian N. Gomez (Amber), and Blake A. Oberlitner; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held later this spring on Judy's birthday, May 1, 2022. In lieu of flowers, Judy's family requests donations to be made to Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center--littlebit.org. Please share stories and look for Judy's future memorial on Facebook--Judy F. Ware.

Judy was my second mom for many years as KaLynn and I grew up together only blocks apart. Some of my favorite memories are summers spent riding the Pep Cadet bus to and from many small towns so our baton and drum core could perform in the parades. Marv would drive the bus and Judy was always making sure everyone had what they needed. They were two proud parents watching out for all their little ducklings. All the kids in the neighborhood and beyond knew they always had a safe place to go if needed. I remember rides to “the country” to visit and ride KaLynn’s horse and how Judy used to take us and drop us off at the roller rink so we could skate the night away to our hearts content. The Ware family has always been an extension of my family and I will forever hold both Judy and Marv in my heart along with the precious childhood memories they helped to create. I’m honored and blessed to have been loved by them❤️
